Its all about the Wood Fibres.
Wood is a typical "anisotropic" material. In simple terms, this means that it has no homogeneous structure and moves in various directions. Since the wood has a parallel fibre structure, its mechanical movements depend on the direction of the fibres.

Legnotech takes flooring to a new level
Hardwood floor and tile installation can get quite pricey and complicated. Legnotech Group Ltd. offers some cost-effective options that offer the look, feel and elegance of the real thing.
Berry Floor is the next big thing in flooring, says Joe Boragina, Legnotech?s Customer Service manager. Berry Floor laminate floors are designed to resist everyday hazards. They are fade-, stain-, and pressure-resistant, resistant to burning ashes, resistant to abrasion, and resistant to chemical household products.
Berry Floor products are made of direct pressure laminate consisting of four layers:
? A layer of extremely tough yet transparent melamine gives the
whole strip resistance to the various hazards of everyday life.
?A decorative layer, consisting of various designs previously impregnated
with resin;
? A layer of extra strong high density fibreboard, whose particles
are bonded with a special glue;
? A layer with resin and melamine gives the panel stability and
ensures that it is flat.
Berry Floor Chateau Shipdeck combines boards of identical dimension laid in the same direction. The narrow width of the laminate strips combined with a micro-bevel gives the look of traditional wood when installed. The result a remarkable combination of classic and modern. Long boards facilitate installation and intensify the visual effect of the flooring. (Long boards ? 1/3? thick by 3 1/3? wide
by 50 3/4" long; Short boards ? 1/3? thick by 3 1/3? wide by 19 7/8"long.) Five colours are available.
Berry Floor Regency 120 & 170 offers the first floating engineered flooring in the world available in two different widths ? 4.72? and 6.69?. A ?floating floor" is not adhered to any type of subfloor. The boards inter-lock and are laid over the subfloor (usually a foam underlay) without being nailed or glued down. Hence the floor floats over the underlay. This makes it easier to correct mistakes during installation or to replace boards that are damaged, and is ideal for basements or
condominiums where installing a solid wood floor can be difficult. Berry Floor designs enhance any interior with a luxurious or minimalist flair, an antique or modern flavour. (120 Narrow ? 1/3? thick by 4 3/4" wide by 50 5/8" long; 170 Wide ? 1/3? thick by 6 5/8"wide by 50 5/8"long.) Six colours are available.
For those exploring options other than a wood appearance, Berry Floor Tiles come in a variety of colours and textures that resemble ceramic or stone. These laminates give each floor a surprising distinction that?s tough to tell from the real thing. Panels come in the form of four pre-assembled tiles for quicker installation and precision. (Ceramic tiles ? 12 2/3? long by 50 15/32? wide by 1/3? thick; Natural Stone tiles ? 11 9/16? wide by 46 1/3? long by 1/3? thick.) Ten colours are available.
Listone Giordano engineered hardwood is Legnotech?s most requested brand, says Joe Boragina, the company?s Customer Service manager. The Maxi line, available in 13 different natural wood species, is highly aesthetic and durable, offering a sleek finish to a room without compromising top quality performance. Furthermore, thanks to its proprietary two-layer technology, Listone Giordano can be installed over radiant heat systems.(9/16"overall thickness, 5 mm top hardwood layer, 3 1/2" wide by 19" - 47 1/4"random lengths.)
Parqueterie Berrichonne Samba Clic floating hardwood makes hardwood floors a possibility in virtually any home. Affordability combined with direct installation over concrete and other types of sub-floor makes Samba Clic the answer for
those living in condominiums or those who have a limited budget. The patented
Uniclic system permits glue-less installation. The 2.5mm hardwood wear layer can even be sanded one to two times, extending the life of the floor. (7/16" overall thickness, 2.5 mm top layer, 5 1/2"wide by 41? long.) Seven wood species are available.
This is just a taste of what Legnotech offers. In operation since 2000, the company is a distributor of European engineered hardwood flooring. Some of the company?s dealers, like European Hardwood Flooring, not only carry all of the brands but offer installation services as well.
Boragina says, while many people decide to replace a floor simply for aesthetic purposes, a water-damaged or broken floor can wreak havoc in a house.
By taking the matter of floor replacement into their own, inexperienced
hands, homeowners risk spending a lot of time and money when it comes to purchasing materials, buying or renting tools and shelling out for extras when mistakes occur. Putting a pro to work means getting the job done much faster, saving time and money, not to mention having the added advantage of a warranty, Boragina says.
